Clarification of criterion H10.C

Introduction

On this page there is a clarification regarding criterion H10.C - Hazardous to the aquatic environment – Category Chronic 4 (H413).

This page exists to facilitate the assessment of whether a product meets the criteria in the BASTA system or not. See the introductory part in the criteria document on how goods are to be assessed and how levels are to be calculated.

Criterion H10.C Hazardous to the aquatic environment – Category Chronic 4 (H413)

For a product to be covered by this criterion, at least one of the ingoing substances must be classified with H413. If the product also contains substances with one or more of the hazard classes "Hazardous to the aquatic environment - Category Chronic 1, 2 or 3 (H410, H411 or H412) - these should be included in the summarised concentration. Please note that the product does not need to contain all of the above mentioned hazard classes, in addition to H413, to be covered by the criterion. 

If the product does not contain any substance with hazard class H410, H411 and/or H412, the total concentration will only be that of the concentration of the substance with hazard class H413.
